Core Sound is pleased to offer M-Audio's Audiophile USB Digital I/O interface for PCs and Macs!

INTRODUCTION

Core Sound is pleased to offer M-Audio's Audiophile USB. The USB Audiophile is very simple-to-connect 24-Bit, 96 KHz, 4-in/4-out Digital Recording Interface with MIDI. The included Mac and PC drivers let you independently scale bit depth and sample rate (up to 96k) to deliver the lowest USB latency anywhere. It's an all-in-one high fidelity sound card solution for a wide variety of applications, ranging from multitrack recording to computer-based home theatre.

The Audiophile USB offers 109 dB of dynamic range on its A-to-D inputs and 107 dB on its D-to-A outputs.

Analog I/O

Analog input is available on four jacks (two RCA and two 1/4-inch). Analog output is available on two RCA jacks; a level control sets the output level.

The Audiophile USB also provides a 1/4-inch headphone output with a level control.

Digital I/O

S/PDIF digital audio I/O is available on two RCA jacks (one for input and one for output).

Midi I/O

Midi I/O is provided on two Midi jacks.

Driver Updates

M-Audio regularly updates their software drivers. They are posted to their Web site. (Search for the Audiophile USB drivers.) The drivers are compatible with almost all the audio software that's out there other than programs that make an effort to restrict themselves to proprietary hardware (like ProTools).

Which Should I Choose: Audiophile USB or Audiophile 2496?

Both soundcards have excellent specificiations and features. The USB Audiophile has better dynamic range specifications.

If you are using a laptop PC or Mac that doesn't offer a PCI slot or a desktop PC that doesn't have a spare PCI slot, the Audiophile USB is the obvious choice.

If you have an older PC or laptop that has an inadequate USB interface controller, you should prefer the Audiophile 2496.

Coaxial 75-Ohm cables with two RCA plugs are priced at $15 for a 3-foot cable and $18 for a 6-foot cable. We can make custom length cables at low cost -- please contact us for details!

Shipping:Within the continental United States, shipping and handling for the Audiophile USB and up to four cables is $13.50. Next Day Air shipping within the US is $29, and Second Day Air is $20; please add $3 for West and South. Shipping via U.S. Postal Service Air Parcel Post to Europe, South America, Africa, Australia and Asia is $28 and $19 to Canada. Shipping via US Postal Service Express Mail to Europe, South America, Africa, Australia and Asia (typically two or three day delivery) is $37 ($47 for two); to Canada it's $24. Shipping of up to four cables alone within the US via USPS Priority Mail is $6.00. New Jersey residents must include 6% sales tax.

Payment: Payment is via credit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express), personal checks, money order (available from the Post Office or bank), traveller's cheques, wired funds, cash or certified check, US funds only. All Audiophile USB and cables returned within 30 days of shipment qualify for a full refund (minus shipping and handling charges) provided that they are returned in as-new condition.

LIMITED WARRANTY

The M-Audio Audiophile USB is sold with a 1 year limited parts and labor warranty. If the Audiophile USB requires repair during that period, ship it back to Core Sound postage paid with a description of the problem. We will repair or replace it and ship it back to you at no charge. No consequential damages are covered by this warranty.
